Hendley Elementary School
Demetrius Lucas has been an education professional for 20 years. He is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University where he received a degree in Communications. Recently, he was part of the Inaugural DCPS Leadership and Innovation Program (LIP) cohort at Georgetown University.
Before coming to Hendley, he was the Assistant Principal of Literacy at Plummer Elementary School where he started as the Instructional Coach. For most of his career, he has worked in Title I schools and takes pleasure in creating positive rapport with the community. With those ideals in mind, Mr. Lucas is committed to ensuring all students receive high-quality instruction.
