We received more unsolicited endorsements for Mr. Allen than any other staff member during the selection process. From the DC Teaching Fellows Site Director to Central Office employees to Hart Middle School staff, endorsers noted that Mr. Allen is a model for excellence in his role as Custodial Foreman. In the words of his principal “he is the personification of perseverance,” and “THE most beloved person at Charles Hart Middle School.” Known by the students as “Big A,” Mr. Allen is authentic, approachable, respectful, and reliable. Most importantly, Mr. Allen is a mentor and role model to the Hart students by demonstrating commitment and managerial excellence.
